The first and most important point to make about the financial implications of moving to an Audley retirement village is that, of course, you continue to own your home, retaining what is probably your most valuable asset, so that you can pass it on to your children one day if you wish.
Retirement properties at Flete House are sold on a leasehold basis, which means you are able to enjoy the benefits of property ownership without many of the associated burdens.

Making finances simple and stress-free

Our fees ensure that all the costs of running an Audley village are met. This includes ongoing costs such as maintaining the exterior of your home, your building insurance, central buildings and facilities, providing discreet but effective security, maintaining the village and the village grounds, as well as fees associated with managing and operating Audley Court Ltd. Additionally at some point in the future, expensive structural repairs or improvements will become necessary, for instance, resurfacing roadways and pathways or reroofing properties.
To relieve you of these concerns, we collect a monthly management fee and a deferred management charge to ensure we have sufficient funds to cover all the ongoing costs of running the village and the expense of any major works required.

As a property owner in an Audley Village you will be able to take advantage of many services and benefits all included with this management fee. These include:
- Onsite Village Manager and access to Audley Care if needed
- Guest Suite usage at all Audley Villages at a reduced rate with breakfast included. Also available for friends and family wanting to visit*
- Private dining room available for special events
- Buildings insurance
- External upkeep of your home
- External window cleaning
- Servicing of CCTV, emergency call system, intruder and smoke alarms
- Night Porter and security service
- Professional garden and ground maintenance
- Access to landscaped grounds and outdoor activities
- Fees associated with managing and operating Audley Court Ltd

What isn’t included in your fees

Of course, because the house you live in is owned by you, you are responsible for the water and energy bills associated with your home as well as the council tax, television licence and home contents insurance. To find out more about specific costs in one of our Audley villages, please contact us.
