The Audley Foundation - Supporting those in need

Supporting The Audley Foundation

The Audley Foundation exists to raise funds to support charitable organisations that enhance the lives of older people, particularly the lonely and less fortunate members of society.

2023 was a hugely successful year for the charity, supporting 29 charities in line with our mission. This would not have been possible without the support of the owners and teams at Audley Villages and Mayfield Villages.

The support of team members was celebrated at the Audley Group Spirit Awards, with Jo Meakin, Sales Manager at Audley Binswood, being recognised for her incredible fundraising efforts.

The Foundation recently welcomed three new trustees to the Board:

  • Jason Shaw (Chartered Accountant)
  • Jenny Hunt (Audley Owner)
  • Mark Sadler (Audley Group)

This now brings the total to six trustees, who are supported by the Foundation Administrator, and members of the Audley Group team.

2023 Highlights

In 2023 the match funding initiative raised £17,384. The monies were donated to 29 charities nominated by Audley Villages and Mayfield Villages. This was a significant increase to the 12 charities supported in 2022. These ranged from local hospices to music therapy, to a talking newspaper.

A full list of supported charities can be found on The Audley Foundation website.

The Christmas Fairs held within Audley villages and Mayfield villages also raised over £4,000, an incredible achievement.

The Audley Foundation held it’s first Charity Dinner in November 2023 at Audley Nightingale Place, Clapham. The event raised a tremendous £19,074.

Thanks to our main sponsors Eversheds Sutherland, Golley Slater, Aston Lark / Howden, Entegra, Bidfood, Destiny Foods, Halewood Artisanal Spirits, Fairfax Meadows, and Unity Wines for their support. An enjoyable evening was had by all who attended.

Overall total raised in 2023: £48,798

As we reflect on some of the highlights of 2023, including members of the team taking part in the London Marathon, The Weekend Warrior Triathlon challenge, and the 7k Blenheim Fun Run, we look forward to more fantastic (and daring) fundraising ideas in Foundation Week 2024 and beyond!

What's coming up in 2024?

The Audley Foundation Week will be taking place from Saturday 11th – Sunday 19th May 2024.

Last year we saw Mario and Luigi washing cars, flower arranging, afternoon tea and team members cutting off their hair – what will this year bring?

Following the success of the first ‘Chatty Bench’ being installed in Chalfont St Peter Memorial Garden, we are currently working with teams to install two further benches at Audley St Elphin’s Park and Audley Redwood. The benches carry the message ‘rest a while for conversation and good company’ and are a step towards combatting loneliness that is experienced by so many. We will share pictures of the new benches in the coming months.
