This zesty cocktail is a twist on the classic drink French 75, swapping Champagne for an English sparkling wine and adding elderflower liqueur.
If you’re looking for some English wine inspiration during English Wine Week (yes, that's this week!), a sparkling wine to try is Chapel Down Bacchus 2018, from the UK’s biggest winemaker based in Kent. This wine is easy to drink, fresh and vibrant and will complement the cocktail well.
Ingredients:
• 35ml gin
• 15ml lemon juice
• 15ml elderflower liqueur
• 1tsp simple syrup
• English sparkling wine
• Decorate with lemon twist or a fruit of your choice
Method:
Pour the gin, elderflower liqueur, syrup and lemon juice in a shaker with ice and shake well.
Strain into a chilled flute or coupe.
Top with sparkling wine and garnish with a lemon twist or a fruit of your choice.
